Where the money goes …
We are filling the needs no one else does. Currently funded projects include:
- East County Youth Symphony: Provided funds to assist the organization purchase music equipment and music books. East County Youth Symphony provides free, high quality orchestral education and performance opportunities to young musicians ages 8-25.
- Destination Imagination: Helped with providing funds for the students of Granite Hills High School attend the National Contest when families did not have enough monies to send their children after they won the State Competition.
- CVUSD – F.A.M.E. Program: F.A.M.E. is the only fine arts magnet public school in East County.
- CVUSD – 6th Grade Camp Scholarships: Making sure that all kids can attend 6th grade camp because they do not have the money.
- Granite Hills High School Tennis Team: Provided funding to refinish the tennis courts to prevent injuries to the children.
- Scholarships: Funding to engage underprivileged and at-risk youth in recreational after-school programs that develop life skills, such as Youth Sports League at Cajon Valley Middle School.
- Juvenile Diversion Program: In conjunction with Harmonium (harmonium-inc.org) and the East County police departments, this is San Diego County’s only program designed to keep kids in school, off the streets, and making the right choices.
- School Attendance and Anti-Truancy Campaign: A public awareness campaign coordinated with the local school district, created to get kids in school and keep them there.
- READ 180: A special assistance reading program to improve the reading skills of those kids who need it most.
- Holiday Toy Drive: A joint effort with the Salvation Army to provide toys to underprivileged children at the holidays. Over two thousand families are helped each year.
- Local High School Athletic and Music Programs: Providing materials and equipment to the local high schools on an as-needed basis to ensure access to valuable activities and resources for the kids.
- Run with the Goose Fun Run: To bring awareness to Childhood Obesity which has become a major concern nationwide.
